Bio Text

Here are the important bits.

Dad was a Farmer from Porterville, California and Mom was a Hula Dancer from Maui. They found each other at USC and had four kids. Im the baby. We lived in one house the first 17 years of my life. I attended UC Santa Barbara and majored in English Literature. At the time I had no clue what I would do with this degree but, in fact, I use those skills every day of my life and in my career. I see a story everywhere.

The next big crazy hop was New York City and the Parsons School of Design. I loved NYC and for 23 years—worked in Fashion, Textiles, and eventually scooped up an independent film as the Costume Designer. I thought I was interviewing for the PA position but I got the job as the Designer! It was a sink or swim. Since 1998, I continue to ‘swim’ and I love what I do.

I have film crew families across the US and internationally; I have had the honor to work with amazing directors and actors and I continuously learn on every job. Hobbies? I am a huge collector of vintage clothing and I want to open up a store on this website, but time and filmwork keep getting in the way. I will often use these beautiful pieces in the films I design, or I adapt them for a character.

Last but not least, I met “the one” Michael and had an amazing son, Harry. He is 17! We now live in California and when Im not on location in Atlanta, Vancouver—wherever, Im driving the kid to a baseball tournament. He is a southpaw with a big future, and just committed to UC San Diego to play Division 1 baseball. woo hoo kid!
